Hillside is a village in Angus, Scotland, situated 1 mile to the north of Montrose. This is the location for the psychiatric hospital, Sunnyside Royal Hospital.
Hillside is a residential suburb of the seaside town of Southport, Merseyside. The village is very closely connected with the village of Birkdale which is also classed as an upmarket suburb of Southport. Birkdale is a much older suburb featuring large victorian houses, where Hillside is a much modern residential suburb.
A popular method of transport is via the Hillside railway station, which opened in May 1926 links the suburb with Southport and Liverpool. The station is very popular in the golfing season or when the Golf Open Championship is held at the Royal Birkdale Golf Club as Hillside station is the nearest train station to Royal Birkdale. The railway line separates Hillside from part of Birkdale and the Royal Birkdale Golf Course.

Northallerton College, formerly known as Northallerton Grammar School, was founded in 1323. Parts of the old school building can be seen adjacent to All Saints'' Church near the north end of Northallerton High Street. The Grammar School moved to its current site in 1909.
